Artist Bio

 

Ron is an experienced watercolour artist and instructor. With a traditional grounding in oils and later, acrylics, he discovered the magic of watercolours in 1981 under the instruction and tutelage of one of Canada's finest watercolourists, Edwin Matthews, at the Buckhorn School of Fine Art. Since then, this medium has been his main avenue to express his love of nature and gardening. His second passion, gardening, has provided him with unlimited subject material for his art.
Ron has shown and won in numerous juried shows and held several solo exhibitions. His work is in many private collections throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
He has been a popular instructor in watercolours and acrylics with Loyalist College, Belleville, Ontario for almost 25 years, offering instruction and workshops for the experienced painter, as well as the beginner.
